Activities offered by the Resorts

I have been to Kerala three times as of now and experienced some of the finest boutique hotels that caters guests with complimentary backwater cruises, premium Ayurveda treatments and massages, yoga sessions and several other recreational activities. There are activities for the whole family like indoor and outdoor gaming equipment, fishing, pottery, mat making etc. Most resorts provide comfortable luxury accommodations as unique as tree houses with full board meal plans that ensure a pleasant holiday.

Things to do in Cochin/Kochi

We always start our trip from Cochin, as we generally take the flight to Cochin airport. There is so much to do in the city. It has so many local attractions and traditional markets like Jewish market, Fort Kochi, Dutch Palace at Mattancherry etc. some famous places to visit are – Chinese fishing nets and fishing village tour. These places are ideal to spend a day or two in Kochi.

Luxurious Resorts in Kumarkom

Next on the list is my favorite city Kumarkom which is 1.5 hours’ drive from Cochin. It is a beautiful place away from city life with so many luxury resorts to experience a laid back vibe of the city. Most of the good resorts offer an evening sunset cruise in the backwaters. Houseboats accommodation is also available in their land and water package.

Exploring Backwaters in Alleppey

I recommend staying in the houseboat either in Kumarkom or Alleppey with a butler and caretaker. It is a great experience to have live cooking on the boat. Tip: request for a houseboat which has an upper deck so you can have your evening tea with a view.

You can also board a full day or an overnight houseboat in Alleppey to explore beautiful backwaters. It is a great way to get an authentic taste of local lifestyle. There are small boat tours available to explore the local villages around Kerala backwaters which is worth exploring.

    1. Hello Rabiya,
2 weeks is a good enough time to spend in Kerala. I suggest you refer to the map and choose the cities and airports to land and depart accordingly. Example if you land in Kochi you should look at the cities to take you back in a circle to Kochi airport. Travelling time really matters when moving from one city to another as there are multiple routes.
      Hope my answer was helpful.
